The Consumer Protection Act Series

Despite the fact that we’re all excited to be amongst the most protected consumers in the world, very few people want to read the full Act to find out all the details.
 
With this in mind, we’ve put together a series of short news snippets on the getclosure blog which will help you to get to grips with the nitty-gritty details of the new Consumer Protection Act and understand how they affect your life.  These tips will be handy to refer back to once the Act has been fully implemented in October 2010.

What is discriminatory marketing?  In a nutshell, it is when a supplier unfairly excludes a consumer from accessing a good or service (despite the fact that the consumer meets the necessary basic requirements). [Ch.2 Part A]

Interesting Fact
Discriminatory marketing also applies if the supplier grants exclusive access, a different quality or price of goods or services to a particular person or community or market segment.
