SERVICES PROVIDED | The Competition Commission is required to investigate alleged contraventions of Chapter 2 of the Competition Act. Chapter 2 deals with restrictive horizontal and vertical practices and the abuse of dominance. The Commission must investigate all complaints and may initiate a complaint in cases where a reasonable suspicion of an alleged contravention exists. A case number is allocated to the complaint and serves as ‘proof’ to the complainant that the complaint has been received. The case is then referred to an investigator who will investigate the alleged contravention of the Competition Act.
