The primary function of the MIO is to adjudicate disputes within the South African motor industry where a deadlock has been reached by the parties involved in the dispute.
When should a consumer lodge a complaint with the MIO office?
The MIO is the very last resort before a complaint will have to go to court. Motor Dealers and their customers must attempt to settle disputes amongst themselves amicably and only when there seems to be no resolution, should the case be referred to the MIO.
