Today is World Aids Day, and we are reminded how important it is to observe such days as a nation. Yes, we hear about it everyday, we are told about the precautionary measures that we should take, but we are just hard of hearing?

If you are not infected you are some how affected. The big question is: how do we get to an HIV/Aids-free generation; a generation that loves life fully. I think it all starts with the young ones. In Xhosa we say “Ligotshwa lise manzi”, which means “Lessons are instilled at a tender age”. That’s the only way we can achieve an HIV/Aids-free generation.

My prayer is for our generation to start having Isidingo in life, even if we spend most of our time in 7de Laan, we must always put our future first. We are the Bold and the Beautiful, therefore we must cherish the Days of our Lives.

Let us make a valuable change in South Africa this festive season.
