Hi - I was approached by someone who came to me during working hours just before Xmas, selling homemade jewelery. I ordered around R1000 worth of items that I thought my fiance' would like. I could only afford 1 item intially which the salesperson agreed to - keeping the rest for me for a week or two longer. When I gave my partner the 1st item she seemed happy and impressed. After payday I bought the rest of the ordered jewelery and gave it to her on Xmas day. However she was not pleased because some of the links on the subsequent necklaces were very thin and cheap-looking. Included in this gift I had bought her was a pendant on a chain. I then realised that she already had one that was virtually identical. She said I should return it rather. My fiance' was shocked to hear how much I had paid for the lot. We then contacted the salesperson and asked her if she couldn't change the cheap-looking links for something chunkier and nicer. She agreed and I referred her to my partner so she could get a better idea of what she wanted to be done with the links. At which point my spouse explained at some length the links she wanted. She also asked whether she could swop the pendant for something else She also ordered another pearl type necklace. The salesperson then contacted us a short while later to say she had altered the 2 necklaces and would like to show them to me. I promptly told the person, as instructed by my fiance' that we had changed our mind about the additional pearl necklace and she was not to make it. I also mentioned that she should rather consult my fiance' about the finished product because I did not want her to be unsatisfied. I asked her to wait for a telephone call from us. Howevevr, a day later my fiance' was then visited without warning at her work by the salesperson - who presnted the jewelery. My fiance' liked the 2 necklaces but said that she thought she was being overcharged for the changes. She confirmed that she did not want the additional pearl necklace. She asked if we could return the pendant and was told that she could not do so.The salesperson then got very loud and angry in the carpark in front of the reception. She grabbed the packet of jewelery out of my partner's hands and said we could not get it until we had paid her. Surely this person is being unreasonable and unfair. What rights do we have in a case like this? The salesperson is awaiting our final payment which is expected by monthend.

Hi

I need help please, I bought a contract phone with MTN last year (2011) in June and I was asked if I want to insure the phone
And I said yes. Unfortunately I got mugged at gun point so I lost my phone when I went to claim the phone at MTN my insurance is tell me that the people at MTN sent them incomplete documents. Yet I have documents saying that my phone is/was insured, so now I am getting the run around from both parties.

Is there a law that protects me?

Thanks in advance for you help

Do we have the return goods if they could not be fitted in store i.e. I bought a horse bit to be fitted in the horses mouth which did not fit. The shop refused a credit note or any form of return of the product. Is this correct?

Hi,

Thank you for this site, I bought a gigabyte laptop from pczone in musgrave on tues 10 Jan 2012, it worked fine then gave me a disk error on Thursday 12th, the shop refused to aknowledge the problem without seeing it, I took it home and the operating system dissapeared. so They exchanged it after a fight on Friday 13th. The new laptop has now frozen on Mon 16th. its still less than 7 days -Ive reported it to them. can I demand my money back due to 2 faulty products? What can I do?
Regards
