According to a sample study conducted by an online computer and video games retailer, GameStation, nine out of ten consumers do not read through Terms & Conditions before making a purchase.
GameStation recently added an “immortal soul clause” to online purchases, stating that customers granted them the right to claim their soul. Consumers had the option to tick a box and opt out to keep their souls, and would be rewarded with a £5 voucher for doing so.
7 500 consumers (88% of participants) theoretically ‘sold their souls’ to GameStation, indicating that they had neglected to read the Terms & Conditions before making their purchase!
How often do you read through Terms & Conditions before making a purchase or signing an agreement?
