Wouldn’t it be great, if we could pay our bills, buy our airtime and pay for our shopping without using any physical cash or credit cards? Well, with AMMO mobile that is now possible.
AMMO mobile is a locally developed mobile banking application, which launched in October 2009. It’s a free application that can be used on any iPhone or WAP enabled cellphone. It allows you to make payments and purchases by just using your cellphone, without any cash, credit or cheque cards even leaving your pockets!
Tammy Lederle, brand director and creator of AMMO Mobile, best describes the application as “a mobile wallet on one’s cellphone, which allows customers to pay in a store environment, top up their electricity meter and cellphone airtime from the comfort of the couch.”
AMMO mobile’s services are similar to those of their competitors, namely Mowaly and Wizzit;however they differentiate themselves by the partners they have brought on board. These partners include various local restaurants, coffee bars and fast food chains such as Nando’s, Kauai, vida e caffe and Primi Piatti, just to name a few.
Okay, so how does AMMO mobile actually work? Firstly, using your cell phone or your computer, you need to register on the website www.ammo.mobi, and then complete the instructions to activate and validate your account, enter a password and voila, once all this is complete the application will be stored on your phone for you to access at your leisure.
