Do you ever wonder why organic food costs more than food sprayed with pesticides and other chemicals? Or how you manage to rack up such an exorbitant cell phone bill on a short trip overseas? The Carte Blanche Consumer team decided to get some answers, and share them with you on the show tonight.
CB Asks: Organic Food
Organic food is slowly finding a place on our supermarket shelves and whole food shops are no longer a rarity, but why is it more expensive? Carte Blanche Consumer finds out why “clean” living costs. Producer: Angus Begg.
Capeshare
Crooks and suckers are born every minute – and despite warnings to properly check out property deals, holiday clubs and time share offers, more sad stories keep flooding our mailboxes. This time, the brokerage is called Capeshare and director Keenan Nagel allegedly sold peak season weeks at top resorts that weren’t even available. Carte Blanche Consumer tried to get him to share time with our cameras. Producer: Este de Klerk; Presenter: Chantal Rutter.
Data Roaming
We love our smart phones and take them everywhere, even on trips abroad. But like all computers, they have a mind of their own and if you haven’t properly managed your data while roaming, you could be in for a staggering bill on your return. Carte Blanche Consumer finds out why international data roaming costs are so high. Producer: Joy Summers; Presenter: Derek Watts.
Watch the show on M-Net at 19h00 every Thursday.
