Have you ever wondered why some wines can be bought at a low cost when you have to pay at a premium for others? Carte Blanche Consumer investigates why there is such a discrepancy in prices and whether a higher price equates to a better wine or not. Other highlights of the show include a look at using your car as a mobile advertisement and why Tshwane’s municipality has so many problems.

Tshwane Municipality Rates
Gauteng municipalities are synonymous with rates and billing bungles. But what are your legal rights when you are charged business rates on a residential home, when in fact you don’t even have business property rights? Carte Blanche Consumer heads to Tshwane council for answers. Producer: Nguni Productions; Presenter: Devi Sankaree Govender.

Mobile Money

Now this sounds like a good idea – put branding on your car and turn it into a movable billboard. You can see out, but everyone else just sees the advert. And in exchange for agreeing to advertise, buyers can subsidize their monthly car instalment by up to half.  So why are so many people complaining? Carte Blanche Consumer investigates. Presenter: Chantal Rutter & Bongani Bingwa; Producer: Graham Coetzer.
