Submitting complaints via online platforms such as Getclosure cuts out the schlep of listening to call centre music for hours on end and often results in a quick resolution too. Hats off to Virgin Mobile for responding to and resolving a customer’s complaint in less than three hours!

Submit a compliment or complaint to let South African suppliers know how they measure up when it comes to customer service.

Companies don’t always realise what a knock-on effect good customer service can have. Here is a great example from Pick n Pay:

“I bought an AIM 42 inch Flat screen tv. At home I got a no signal message. The antennae did work on the old tv. I took it back and they were immediately willing to replace it if faulty. No 6 weeks waiting for the workshop. The technical guy at the store was able to configure it. Even though the tv was ok, I was so impressed by their attitude and helpfulness that I decided to buy more of my groceries at their store. Please keep it up. You are an asset to Pick and Pay. Thanks a lot.” – F.J. Nel
